Sony Aims to “Bring the Best Experiences and Best Brands” First and Third Party Alike to Vita

Sony is really gunning for the success of their new handheld. With the platform’s official launch outside of Japan now upon us – Happy Vita Day! – the PlayStation team is doing everything they can to build momentum for this new portable device. In fact, SCEA marketing boss Guy Longworth is assuring gamers that they can expect the best of the best to be on the PS Vita.

Speaking to VentureBeat, Longworth elaborated, saying:

We want to bring the best experiences and best brands to the platform, not only from Sony but from third parties as well. The hardware offers a canvas for developers to do different things. FIFA Soccer plays incredibly well on the Vita, and we think sports games in general will be big on it.

We think this an incredible experience you get with the Vita and that gives great value to the consumer. We have something for everyone, from AAA titles at $49.99 to downloadable games at more accessible prices.

We have to reiterate that we are in this for the long-term.

So there you have it. If you have been hesitant to drop $250 on the platform in fear that Sony will abandon the device in a couple of years, fear not, for Sony has made it clear they will remain loyal to the Vita audience for better or worse.
