Phil Harrison Takes Over Peter Molyneux’s Role at Microsoft

Phil Harrison, known best by the PlayStation community for his former position as President of SCE Worldwide Studios, his “ducks” demonstration on the PS3 at E3 2005, and his hand in the creation of PlayStation Home, has taken over Peter Molyneux’s job as head of Microsoft Game Studios.

Harrison, who worked for Sony for a number of years, has also filled roles at Atari and was a part of the advisory board for David Perry’s Gaikai, will now take over overseeing all of Microsoft’s UK and Europe-based game studios – a job that was previously held by Peter Molyneux up until a week ago.

Just last week, Peter Molyneux announced that he would be leaving Microsoft to work for Indie start-up, 22 Cans.

Phil Harrison is an industry vet with over 20 years in the business.
