With amazing games like Starhawk, The Last of Us and Sly 4 on the horizon, it’s a great time to be a gamer, and more importantly, a proud owner of a PlayStation 3. But a recent study indicates that none of these high profile exclusives are even among the top 10 most anticipated titles for the platform in 2012.
In a study conducted by Nielsen, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 3 topped the list with Max Payne 3 trailing closely behind. Considering the fact that these are two sequels to incredibly popular franchises, we can see why they’ve made it so high on the list. What proves puzzling however, is how Irrational Games’ BioShock Infinite is only ranked at ninth, while games like Prototype 2 and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier are higher up on the list.

Are PlayStation gamers truly unaware of the existence of exclusives like The Last of Us and Sly 4, or worse yet… indifferent towards them? It’s worth noting that Nielsen didn’t play favorites with multiplatform games either, as Halo 4, Fable: The Journey and Kinect: Star Wars all made the Xbox 360’s top 10, with 343i’s sci-fi FPS coming in first place.
