PixelJunk 4am Wakes Up the PSN Early in May, Beta Coming Soon

PixelJunk 4am has been a long time in the making, but the wait is sure to be worth it. And the wait will soon be over, as Sony and Q-Games have revealed the game’s release date.

We first got a taste of PixelJunk 4am at E3 last year, and now almost a full year later, it’s ready to be released on May 15th. Alongside the full game, will be a free PixelJunk 4am Viewer which will let you watch live performances of other PSN users rocking out.

But you may have a chance to play it—or watch it—sooner than the May 15th release date. A free beta test will be rolling out to select PlayStation Plus members with a PlayStation Move controller starting on May 1st. Beta codes for the PixelJunk 4am Viewer will also be distributed, allowing you to be a spectator of users with the regular beta’s performances.

In addition to the release date news, it’s also been revealed that PixelJunk 4am can be used as a standalone visualizer for music stored on your PS3.
