It’s been an extremely long wait for Final Fantasy Versus XIII fans, with over a year gone without seeing the game in action. The game’s director, however, is requesting further patience regarding an update on Square Enix’s action RPG.
Speaking to Game Informer magazine, Tetsuya Nomura — who is also one of the lead designers on the title — stated that the long wait is due to the developers “doing something completely new”:
We would like to ask for your patience on an official announcement for this title. It always takes time when tackling the challenge of doing something completely new, but we are doing our best to bring information to the fans as quickly as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
Earlier this year, Nomura confirmed a delay on a reveal of the game citing “totally unrelated” circumstances. When they do decide to showcase the game to the public, meanwhile, it’ll be in the form of a gameplay demo.
