Just a few weeks ago, a Game of the Year Edition of Deep Silver’s popular open-world zombie game popped up on the UK ratings board. Now, the publisher has finally confirmed not only its existence, but also a firm release date.
Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition will be arriving on June 26th and will include all of the DLC that has launched for the game since its release. In an effort to rake in as many additional sales as possible, the publisher has priced the title at $30. Even though the original game was littered with bugs – garnering a lot of criticism from game reviewers – it went on to sell quite well among the general public.
The downloadable content on the disc will include both the Bloodbath Area and Ryder White expansions. If you have an affinity for zombies and can put up with the occasional glitch, this more robust package of Dead Island may be worth checking out if you were initially turned off by the original’s steep $60 price tag.
Dead Island: GOTYE will be available on June 26th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
