Rumor: Assassin’s Creed III, Ghost Recon Coming to Vita

When the PlayStation Vita was unveiled last year, Ubisoft assured gamers that they would be supporting the hardware with a number of their popular franchises. If recent listings from online retailers is any indication, it looks like the publisher is living up to its word.

Online game store Zavvi.com had Assassin’s Creed III listed to be coming to the PS Vita, with a launch date that matched the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The site has since pulled down the listing. In addition, Ghost Recon: Final Mission was spotted on GAME.co.uk, which too has since been removed.

You may recall Ubisoft previously promising an Assassin’s Creed game for Vita, but they never confirmed what form it would take. If the listing turns out to be true, perhaps PlayStation users will be able to take advantage of cross platform play with AC3 on their PS3 and Vita.

We haven’t heard anything prior in regards to a Ghost Recon title for Sony’s handheld, but it certainly sounds like a logical move for Ubi. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough, as E3 kicks off next week.
