Rumor: Quantic Dream to Announce New Game at Sony’s E3 Press Conference

If you were flabbergasted (like me) by David Cage’s Kara Demo when it made its debut at GDC, you’ll be pleased to know a recent report is currently indicating that the Heavy Rain creator will be revealing his next major game at Sony’s E3 presser.

According to a senior development source close to CVG, Cage and his team at Quantic Dream will be taking the stage in LA one week from now to announce a brand new game for the PlayStation 3. In addition, the source has indicated that there are currently two games in the works at the France-based studio. Whether they are both are for the PS3 remains to be seen. There’s always a chance that the other is being developed for Sony’s next-generation console or even the Vita.

If this report does turn out to be true, you can be sure of one thing, it will almost certainly be running on the same engine that powered the jaw-dropping Kara tech demo – although at a far more upgraded state. As for why Cage decided to scrap the Heavy Rain engine and work with something new, he explained: “There were so many things we couldn’t do with our Heavy Rain engine, so we decided to build a new one.”

Sony’s E3 press conference is just one week away. Be sure to keep it locked to PlayStation LifeStyle all next week for all your PlayStation-related E3 needs.
