By porting The Witcher 2 to the Xbox 360, CD Projekt was able to prove that they are fully capable of successfully bringing The Witcher franchise to consoles. Now it looks like they’ll be bringing the original as well, but not just to the Xbox 360.
Thanks to a spotting by GamersGlobe, both Cool Shop and Blockbuster have the game listed to be coming to the PS3 in Denmark. Considering how much critical acclaim both entries in the series have managed to garner, expanding The Witcher franchise to a larger audience sounds like a no-brainer.
Gamers may recall that not too long ago, CD Projekt was working with Widescreen Games to bring The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf to consoles. Unfortunately, payment issues plagued the process, so the project never saw completion.
CD Projekt is having its summer briefing tomorrow where a major announcement will be made, but the developer has confirmed to Eurogamer that this reveal is in regards to a brand-new IP, not The Witcher 1 for consoles. This however doesn’t rule out the possibility of them making such an announcement in addition, so be sure to check back tomorrow for more information.
