Quantic Dream founder David Cage has announced the studio’s next PlayStation 3 exclusive, entitled Beyond: Two Souls.
There was talk on the name of Cage’s next project being Beyond and he’s now formally announced it during Sony’s E3 press conference. The game itself strikes several similarities to Heavy Rain; it’ll have a heavy emphasis on narrative, with motion-captured actors being utilized. One such actor is Ellen Page; she’s the lead character of the PlayStation 3 exclusive.
Ellen plays Jodie Holmes, the protagonist of Beyond: Two Souls. She’ll have a 15 year life span, apparently. “We will live the life of a video game character,” said Cage. The whole gameplay footage that has been shown was based on a real-time demo on the PS3. The graphics, in particular, resemblances the visual prowess of Rockstar’s LA Noire. The game’s setting itself seems to have a heavy emphasis on atmosphere. Players will also seemingly have access to telekinetic powers.
In the words of Cage, Beyond: Two Souls is an “epic, breathtaking and spectacular” experience. More information will be revealed next month.
