Ubisoft has explained the decision behind not showing Rainbow 6: Patriots during E3.
Speaking to IGN, executive Tony Key said that although the game missed the event, the shooter is “still in active development”.
What we decided was that the best thing for the brand was to not bring it to the show right now. We have a lot of other games that we want to focus people on and there will be more information on Rainbow coming.
There’s been a lot of talk regarding next-generation consoles arriving, at the earliest, next year. So, it’s no surprise that speculation of the game’s future has led to questions regarding if it’ll ever appear on current-gen platforms. Key, however, reassured fans that the shooter is still scheduled for a release on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
This is the only generation that I know about, so I would assume yes.
Rainbow 6: Patriots is expected to release sometime during 2013.
