Sony has said the PlayStation Move racing wheel peripheral, unveiling during E3, features “basically double the accuracy of a DualShock”.
SCEA research and development engineer Anton Mikhailov, who was heavily involved with the PlayStation Move’s development, discussed the weird-looking controller on the PlayStation Blog.
Each of the controller’s handle features a so-called “DualShock-style motor” in order to deliver directional rumble. In regards to the PlayStation Move, meanwhile, the PlayStation 3’s motion sensor peripheral can offer vibration for several degrees of sensory feedback. Furthermore, due to the controller being powered directly by the PlayStation Move, additional batteries are not required at all.
A selection of the games that will support the PlayStation Move racing wheel are:
- Gran Turismo 5
- LittleBigPlanet Karting
- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
- Burnout Paradise
- MotorStorm Apocalypse
