Contrary to prior belief, it appears that Rockstar will not be showing off Grand Theft Auto V at this year’s gaming convention in Germany.
A trailer for Gamescom was released last month, and amongst the promotional video was a snippet of old GTA V footage, which would obviously lead one to assume that the game would be at the show in some capacity. However, Franko Fischer, the communications manager organizing the event put the speculation to rest, telling CVG that no, Rockstar will not be at the event to show Grand Theft Auto and that they have since removed all of the footage from the promotional trailer.
Rockstar Games is not scheduled and has never been scheduled to exhibit at Gamescom 2012. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
Although GTA 5 won’t be at the show, I think we will once again have the most spectacular world premieres set for the events.
