A number of studios at Warner Bros. Seattle have been hit by another round of layoffs. This particular branch of WB is home to the following studios: Monolith Productions, Snowblind Studios and Surreal Software.
Warner Bros. has issued an official comment on the news, confirming the unfortunate closures. “Due to shifting business imperatives, WB Games Seattle has made staff reductions. The group will continue to remain an integral part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment,” the publisher explained.
It’s always disheartening to hear of studio layoffs, especially in the case of WB Seattle, which was also hit during the month of November last year. We wish all of those affected by the layoffs the best of luck in their future endeavors. Right now, the only known project in the works at the Seattle division is The Lord of the Rings: Guardians of Middle-earth.
