Mass Effect 3: Leviathan “Extremely Focused” on Story, Exploration

BioWare’s recently-revealed forthcoming DLC pack for Mass Effect 3Leviathan, will be “extremely focused” on both story and exploration.

Game producer Michael Gamble explained the developer’s goal with the DLC pack to GameSpot, which will see Leviathan focusing more on the story and exploration aspects – as exemplified in Mass Effect 2 expansions Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival – as opposed to the previous combat-situated multiplayer DLC.

With multiplayer, we were really able to define and finesse our combat a lot, so because we did all that content we brought it kind of 180 for Leviathan.

So, it’s extremely focused on singleplayer, story, exploration…a lot of these things that really make Mass Effect DLC great, you know, [such as] Shadow Broker, Arrival, things that we’ve done before. We took our tolls from those previous pieces and brought that into Leviathan.

Apart from its confirmation and brief detailing, BioWare didn’t reveal a time frame as to when fans can expect the DLC to arrive. They did, however, reveal that Leviathan will deliver “gripping and emotional storytelling, compelling new characters, powerful weapons and unique upgrades”.
