User-Created Levels in LittleBigPlanet Reach 7 Million

LittleBigPlanet gamers are a creative bunch, as the sheer number of user-created levels will blow your mind. Believe it or not, a total of 7 million levels have been created by players since Media Molecule’s franchise was first released four years ago.

The developer shared the news on their blog, saying:

Last night, around the same time Usain Bolt pzwned the 100m sprint at the London 2012 Olympics, the seven millionth level was published to the LittleBigPlanet servers.

It’s been nearly four years since LBP was published, and a lot has happened in that time; for the game series, for us, our friends at PlayStation, and for you guys too.

Sony has struggled to find a worthy mascot ever since the PlayStation platform launched, but it’s fair to say that the cute smiling face of Sackboy has become quite synonymous with Sony’s console over the past few years. Media Molecule’s “Play, Create, Share” may have sounded like nothing more than a clever business slogan at first, but boy have they delivered on the concept.

With a Vita version of LBP set to launch next month, gamers will soon have yet another reason so tinker around with all of the fascinating tools that Media Molecule has made available.
