New Trailer for Far Cry 3 Showcases Co-op Campaign

A new trailer for Far Cry 3 has hit the web, detailing the game’s ambitious four-player cooperative offerings.

The cinematic clip below doesn’t feature any actual gameplay; however, it does reveal some of the features that will be included in this team-based mode. In it, you and three of your friends will embark on a quest for revenge in what appears to be a side story not directly tied to the single-player. Oh yeah, and there’s two-player split-screen which is always a nice bonus.

Is it just me or does this bear a striking resemblance to Left 4 Dead? With four characters, each having their own distinct look and backstory, I can’t help but draw comparisons to Valve’s team-oriented zombie shooter.

Look for Far Cry 3 when it launches in stores this December for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Until then, sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on the new co-op trailer.
