Remember that jaw-dropping Luminous Engine tech demo that Square showed off back in June? Well it’s back and more impressive than ever thanks to some added interactivity that proves that this is what the future of gaming will look like.
As you’ll see in the videos below, the footage is most definitely running in real time, as the camera moves to different angles, adjustments are made to particle effects and several other interesting tweaks. Check it out below.
If this is what the next generation of gaming consoles will be able to offer, then count me in. The guys over at Square Enix are absolute masters in visual design. Unfortunately their latest developed games – while very pretty – leave much to be desired.
Here’s to hoping that Final Fantasy XV – when it is inevitably announced – is just as much fun to play as it is to look at.
