BioWare Co-Founders Depart From Their Roles at the Studio

Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, the co-founders of the famed role-playing developer BioWare have announced that they are retiring from the company.

The announcement was made on the official BioWare blog, where both Muzyka and Zeschuk each wrote separate letters explaining why they are leaving the studio that they both founded back in 1995. While the two have their own individual reasons for departing, it looks like they both are ready to move on from the video game industry.

Muzyka explained in his letter, that “following two decades of multiple successful product launches across many platforms and business models, I’ve largely personally achieved what I wanted in videogames; I now desire to take on a brand new entrepreneurial challenge.”

In the case of Zeschuk, it appears that his interest in the industry has waned over the years and he’s ready to move on. “I’ve reached an unexpected point in my life where I no longer have the passion that I once did for the company, for the games, and for the challenge of creation,” he explained.

It’s a shame that they both are leaving, but we wish them the best in their future pursuits.
