Phantasy Star Online 2 to be Free-to-Play on PS Vita

Sega has revealed that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be free-to-play for PlayStation Vita owners in Japan when the game launches next year.

The game is scheduled for release during the spring in the region, leaving the rest of the word waiting eagerly for any news on Sega’s launch plans outside of Japan. The Phantasy Star Online 2 dev team also revealed that Vita players will be able to play online with those on the PC version through certain lobbies.

All of this news was initially revealed at the Tokyo Game Show last week, and has since been translated courtesy of the Phantasy Star Fan Blog.

It’s only a matter of time – hopefully – before we hear more about Sega’s plans to release the game in North America and Europe. As such, stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle for all your Vita needs. We can only pray that the game is free-to-play in the West as well.
