It has been confirmed that Solid Snake will serve as the protagonist in the recently announced film based on the Metal Gear Solid franchise.
The news was announced earlier today by Hideo Kojima himself during a developer session at the Eurogamer Expo. Kojima went on to add that he will not have a hand in directing the movie or writing the script, but rather oversee the project in an advisory role.
As for who will play the legendary Solid Snake, Kojima revealed that at one point they considered Hugh Jackman before deciding to go with someone who isn’t all that well known. He also expressed his faith in producer Avi Arad to do a solid job is casting for the movie.
I don’t know about you, but I’d be perfectly fine without a Metal Gear Solid movie. The games are so story-heavy that they feel like epic movies already. I’d much rather have Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid 5 thank you very much.
