For what seems like a bi-weekly occurrence these days, the PlayStation Network will be down for maintenance for quite a long time on Monday, October 15th. This time, however, the maintenance is likely in preparation for the PS Store’s big revamp.
Beginning at 4AM PST (1PM BST) and ending at 4PM PST (2AM BST), anyone who has yet to sign into the PlayStation Network within the last few days will not be able to use any online features.
If you have logged into the PSN recently, online play and apps will remain unaffected, but you won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, or Account Management.
No reason was given for the down time, though it likely has to do with prep for the PlayStation Store re-design happening on the October 17th in the UK and October 23rd in North America.
Don’t forget that Tuesday also brings the next game within the Day 1 Digital program, Doom 3 BFG Edition, and if you spend $100 on the PSN this month, you’ll get $20 back.
