Experience The Campaign of Carnage with Mr. Torgue in Borderlands 2 Next Week

If you’ve been following along, then you already know that Gearbox began teasing Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage DLC for Borderlands 2 yesterday. Today we discovered that you won’t have to wait long to meet Mr. Torgue himself. In a tweet, Mr. Torgue posted:

MY CAMPAIGN OF CARNAGE DROPS ON NOVEMBER TWENTIIIIIIIIIIIETH

Mr. Torgue also wanted to let you know that “IF YOU DIDN’T READ THAT LAST TWEET LIKE IT WAS A SICK GUITAR SOLO YOU F*CKED IT UP”. So if needed, take a moment to go back and read it again.

Kotaku presented a preview of the upcoming DLC and what it has to offer when it releases on the 20th of November.

What do you do when you visit the Badass Crater of Badassitude? You try to become the number one badass. Duh. The Badass Crater and your number one title await you in a new DLC campaign for Borderlands 2.

The Campaign of Carnage is similar to the Mad Moxxi’s Underdome DLC from the first game in that you will be taking part in arena style battles. However, it seems that Gearbox has learned their lesson and is striving to make this a much more interesting and accessible experience than the Underdome was.

Kotaku reports that the game reminded them of wrestling theatrics. It will not simply be enough to win battles. Mr. Torgue wants to make these fights “good TV”, so we can probably expect some interesting mechanics thrown into the normally straightforward fights.

Another point where Gearbox has strayed from the Mad Moxxi path is that enemies will fight each other. This is a competition to be number one badass after all, so it’s every man for themselves. There’s no word on how this will affect, if at all, co-op play with your teammates.

With multiple stages to explore, returns of familiar faces from the series, and new story, bosses, customization, and guns, you can expect Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage to offer you another six to eight hours with your favorite vault hunters. Check out Gearbox’s official announcement here.

Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage will be free if you have already purchased the season pass or $9.99 if you opt to pick up each of the add-ons separately.
