The Resistance Collection was originally predicted to come out on the PlayStation 3 today, November 20th, but that obviously didn’t happan. As it turns out, Sony have opted for a December 5th release date instead.
Bundling together Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2, Resistance 3, Resistance 2 Aftermath Multiplayer Map Pack, Resistance 2 Skin Bundle, Resistance 2 Wraith Skin multiplayer weapon, Resistance 3 Brutality Pack, and the Resistance 3 Survival Pack, it will sell for $39.99.
For those of you hoping to see a surprise trophy patch on Resistance: Fall of Man, Insomniac has confirmed that it won’t be appearing at all, giving this explanation:
[…] For years we have said we will not ever add trophies to RFOM. We are completely focused on new games, and to try to re-open our 6+ year old code base to add trophies and then retest the entire game on an engine and environment that we haven’t worked in for years, is not possible.
But why should that inability on our part to add trophies prevent Sony from repackaging the three games together for folks that might not have picked them up yet?
Also, the collection will include 3 separate discs, as opposed to them all being crammed into one, mostly due to the fact that the last two games both had to use dual-layer Blu-rays.
Looking at another Insomniac title, they are hard at work trying to get Ratchet: Deadlocked onto the PlayStation Network before the end of the year, to finish the 10 year anniversary on a high note.
