PlayStation 4 by 2014? Dragon Age III Dev Seems to Think So

From the moment a console launches, one of the most frequently asked questions is “When is the next generation coming out?”. With a lengthy lifespan, the PS3 and 360 are exceeding six and seven years on the market respectively and no word of when exactly we’ll be seeing the inevitable next generation hardware.

Dragon Age III‘s lead level designer Tau Gu’s LinkedIn profile lists an interesting update that indicates a possible timeline for the next-gen consoles (original quote follows, typos included).

Scope of the DAIII has been chaged, which will target next gen platform and will be postpone to 2014.

As no official change of release date has been offered by EA, this should be taken with a grain of salt, but this could suggest that the next generation of consoles will be out by 2014. As pointed out by PS3T, if 2014 is referring to the fiscal year of 2014 rather than the calendar year, then it could mean that the rumored release window of the 2013 holiday season will be accurate.
