Best Action/Adventure Game of 2012 Award

Winner: Assassin’s Creed III

For a game that requires stealth and patience a plenty, Assassin’s Creed III is both full of action, and one hell of an adventure. Built upon the roots of American history, Assassin’s Creed III tells a tale that is believable, but extraordinary. The acts of humanity at that time displayed true heroism, and Connor’s character and role fits in perfectly.

His Native American roots put him in the middle of the playing field while a territorial war wages on between the Colonists and the Redcoats—territory that truly belongs to the Iroquois tribesmen. Behind the scenes, the eternal struggle between the Templars and Assassins is ever present. It all helps blend the lines of what can be seen as “right” and “wrong”. Along with the memorable, plot-driven gameplay, a stockpile of content fuels the experience beyond the 20-hours of story, and it all comes together in one explosive package that can only be defined as the epitome of action/adventure.
