Update 2: It’s out! Go here for more.
Update: After the patch didn’t arrive to the PlayStation Vita last night or this morning, we checked back on the US PlayStation site and everything that was there yesterday has been removed. It looks like the original posting was an error on their end and we’ll be sure to let you know if this (or any other) patch turns up again.
Original Story: A listing on the US PlayStation website has posted that system software version 2.05 is scheduled to release for the PlayStation Vita today, likely after the PlayStation Store updates this afternoon. Based on their wording, “this PS Vita system software update is required to use PlayStationNetwork features and other features on the system,” it looks like this will be a mandatory update.
As of right now, there is only one patch note of the “system software stability during use of some features has been improved” variety, so when the update does go live, it shouldn’t take you too long to download and install.
We’ll let you know when the new system software is available, and how long it takes to download, but if you notice that it is out before we get a chance to report on it, please send an email to tips@playstationlifestyle.net.
