Ask PSLS: Which February 2013 Game Are You Most Excited For?

Not content with just being relegated to Wednesdays, the Ask PSLS feature has become self aware and decided to also be featured at the beginning of each month, asking the staff which game they are most excited for in the coming weeks.

As we pointed out in our February 2013 release date page, there are some awesome titles coming out, so Ask PSLS asked us: “Which February 2013 Game Are You Most Excited For?”

February is a pretty dull month for me. I’m not that interested in Dead Space 3 after Dead Space 2 disappointed me, the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo didn’t impress me, and I have never been a Crysis fan. So I guess that leaves Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time as my most anticipated, though I am also excited for Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires.

Chandler Wood – News Writer (@FinchStrife)

My answer would have initially been Dead Space 3, but by doing the review for the game, that turned into a January title for me. With the remaining games due in February, I would have to say it’s a toss up between the upcoming Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Metal Gear Rising.

Sanzaru did an awesome job on the Sly HD collection and I have high hopes for their take on the 4th title in the series (and it’s a cheaper price, also with Cross-Buy!). MGR on the other hand is a very different style of game, focusing on combat rather than platforming, and coming (somewhat) from the mind of Kojima, it will be amazing in it’s own right. Don’t make me pick, because they’re both going to be great!

Dan Oravasaari – Playgirl (@FoolsJoker)

Well given that I am still quite a ways behind on Ni no Kuni, I doubt I will get to play many other games in February, reviews not withstanding. But the one game that stands above the rest, is the same one I have been looking forward to for the better part of a year, Aliens: Colonial Marines. Having been a fan of the Aliens franchise since I was a kid, and my confidence in the guys at Gearbox Software, I think this will be the one game to watch this month.

After playing the Dead Space 3 demo, Crysis 3 open beta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo, and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo, I can safely say that Dead Space 3 is the game I’m most excited for this month.

Sure the text is still impossibly small and the game doesn’t seem to be as scary, but the gameplay is still fun and killing necromorphs never gets old. Knowing me, I’ll probably beat this in one or two sittings and I simply can’t wait.

February is a wonderful month. Finally, after an inappropriately long time, I won’t be purchasing any new games. I’m planning to take advantage of this month by finishing up DmC Devil May Cry, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and I’ll be starting, and hopefully finishing, Catherine when it arrives (after the full hour trial, I couldn’t resist snagging it on eBay for $15).

Although, my February won’t be devoid of gaming purchases entirely; the new Heavenly Sword/WipEout ‘Fearless’ PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale stage has my digital currency written all over it. On that same note, despite being free; my most anticipated February release is Kat and Emmett’s upcoming inclusion in PlayStation All-Stars.

With February arriving, that means the Tyranny of King Washington will soon be upon us. Assassin’s Creed III was my personal game of the year and I’m well on my way to that platinum trophy. It will be interesting to see how George Washington goes from playing bocce ball, to being our first monarch. A secondary revolution should make for an interesting sub-plot in our Nation’s history.

Most anticipated game? Who cares? The PS4 is going to be announced! I guess I should be excited for Aliens: Colonial Marines as Gearbox are awesome, but that game has absolutely no hype – Sega, get your act together already. Of course, Dead Space 3 looks awesome, so I’m excited for that too.
