Next Assassin’s Creed Out Before April 2014 – New Hero, New Time Period, New Developer

Considering the way Ubisoft refused to drop Ezio for three whole games, most assumed that Assassin Creed 3‘s Connor would hang around for a while. But CEO Yves Guillemot has revealed that, instead, the next AC game will be in a whole new era and have a whole new protagonist.

Guillemot said, during an investor conference, that there will be an “all-new Assassin’s Creed hero, within an all new team and time period”, and that it will be “another major leap forward for the franchise” when it releases some time after April 2013 and before April 2014. He continued:

It is the benefit of multiple teams working on multiple chapters of the product, each getting several years to make their versions of an Assassin’s Creed game.

He did not reveal which “new team” is behind the development of the game, or any platforms, but it’s likely that the title will be a next generation affair.

If you can’t wait until then for more face-stabbing-fun, Assassin’s Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington DLC will be out on February 19th.
