PlayStation Vita Price Drop Not Headed to North America, Says Shuhei Yoshida

When the PlayStation Vita received a price cut earlier this week in Japan, we immediately thought that a similar drop was headed to North America, possibly getting an announcement at the PlayStation meeting.

Clearly that didn’t happen, and when Joystiq asked Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, if the PS Vita is getting a price cut, he simply said, “No, it’s not.” According to Yoshida, the exchange rate is a reason for us not seeing a cheaper price on the handheld.

To me, this development likely means that we should be seeing a brand new PlayStation Vita bundle on store shelves soon. With MLB 13: The Show out in just a couple weeks, there’s a good chance we could see one featuring the baseball game, or maybe even one in April for Soul Sacrifice.

Since the PS Vita is staying at $249.99, what type of bundle would get you to buy one? Let us know in the comments below.
