Despite the title of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix not referencing the fact that it’s a collection of two PlayStation 2 titles, it looks to still be following the lead of other PS3 HD packages when it comes to trophies.
Responding to a question in the comments section of the PS Blog, Robert Peeler, Community Manager at Square Enix, talked about how trophies are going to be implemented:
The trophy sets are different for each game. There is also a set of trophies for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days when watching the cinematics.
Other HD collections on the market today include a platinum for each individual title, so while he didn’t confirm it, it’s a safe bet that we’ll see two Platinums in the HD remix, with the (low) possibility of a third for the videos. Speaking of those videos, Robert said we can expect “hours of video footage” from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, which is there to help flesh out the story of Roxas.
Today’s announcement of the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix only detailed a PS3 retail release, so when Robert was asked about it being a Day 1 Digital title, he was only able to say, “Currently we don’t have any announced plans to put it out digitally.” Then when a question shifted to a PS4 release, he just mentioned that, “It’s currently only slated to be available for PlayStation 3.”
Switching to the EU PS Blog, Benjamin Bateman, Central Community Manager at Square Enix, revealed that the game will be localized in French, German, Spanish, and Italian. Unfortunately though, Benjamin said that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix won’t include Japanese voices.
Will you watch the 358/2 Days cinematics just for the trophies? Let us know in the comments below.
