God of War: Ascension May Release on the PlayStation Network After All, Possibly as Early as Next Week

All the way back on Monday, we let you know that God of War: Ascension would break away from the recent trend of appearing on the PlayStation Network on launch day, with Sony saying, “It is not a Day 1 Digital.” Since they didn’t completely rule out a PSN release at some point, we mentioned that maybe Ascension would pull a Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and show up digitally shortly after becoming available, which it did in North America.

Well, Jawad Ashraf, a member of the European PlayStation Store team, responded to a question that asked, “So no digital release for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and GOW:Ascension?”:

Not 100% sure for MGR’s release but GoW should be by next week.

This answer seems to point towards the fact that God of War: Ascension might be arriving on the PSN next week. Since this isn’t concrete and could just be for Europe, we reached out to Sony for more information and we’ll let you know if we hear anything back.

Would a digital release be too late for you because you bought a retail copy? How big do you think the file would be? Let us know in the comments below.
