PlayStation Vita Outsells the 3DS in Japan, Soul Sacrifice Moves Over 114,000 Copies

Continuing the momentum that started 2 weeks ago thanks to a price cut, the PlayStation Vita sold 63,581 units in Japan from March 4th – 10th. Unlike the first week of the PS Vita price drop where it was bested by the 3DS, Sony’s handheld exacted its revenge this time around, outselling the perennial first place finisher by 2,500 systems.

Though the PlayStation 3 saw the best selling individual title with its version of the Vita original Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f at 110,229 copies, the Soul Sacrifice and Soul Sacrifice: “United Front” Double Pack (which includes two copies of the game) combined to sell a total of 114,446. Other PlayStation Vita titles who finished in the top 20 include Tales of Hearts R at #5 with 55,258, Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus: Otome Shoujotachi no Shoumei at #13 with 17,138, and Phantasy Star Online 2: Special Package at #15 with 10,031.
