New Dragon’s Dogma Patch Corrupts Save Data, Capcom is “Exploring the Issue”

If you own either Dragon’s Dogma or the newly released Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, make sure you back up your save files to an external hard drive or cloud (PlayStation Plus does that for you if you opted into cloud saving).

The reason for this is that the latest patch for Dragon’s Dogma “has caused players’ DD save data to become corrupted (cue Olra purification jokes), meaning the game will no longer save or load their game progress.” Capcom notes that if you have repeated problems with your save data being corrupted, you should try playing the game offline while they look into the problem.

No new date for a patch to patch this patch was given, just that they are “exploring the issue currently and hope to have a solution as quickly as possible.”
