The Gran Turismo 15th Anniversary event is now underway at the Silverstone Circuit, and while Gran Turismo 6 hasn’t been unveiled yet, Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), revealed that Gran Turismo 5 has sold 10 million units worldwide.
With those GT5 sales, the Gran Turismo franchise as a whole is now at 70 million copies sold worldwide, with almost half of that in Europe, making it “the most successful PlayStation franchise ever.”
Jim also mentioned that “PlayStation and Gran Turismo are always going to be linked, GT is exclusive to PlayStation” and the series is”as relevant as it was 15 years ago. It’s been hugely successful.”
