Naughty Dog on The Last of Us’ Multiplayer: You’re Going to Feel “That Spirit That We’ve Captured in the Single Player”

It’s been a very exciting week for The Last of Us, with Naughty Dog wrapping up production, the game being confirmed as a Day 1 Digital title on the PSN and the fact that you’ll be able to play the downloadable version when the progress bar hits 50%.

One very important thing we’re still waiting to hear about is the multiplayer aspect in The Last of Us, and to try to get some info, the PS Blogcast talked to Ricky Cambier, Game Designer at Naughty Dog, and Erick Pangilinan, Art Director at Naughty Dog. Here’s the brief, but interesting, teaser they left:

What I can tell you right now is that, take all these things we’ve been talking about – this pressure to survive, this high lethality, this limited resources, this crafting, these upgrades – and now go head-to-head with somebody else. So that spirit that we’ve captured in the single player, you’re gonna feel it, you’re gonna really feel that in the multiplayer. And that’s really all I can say right now.

With Nate Wells of Naughty Dog saying that he can’t prepare us for the best multiplayer ever earlier this week, hopefully the curtain will be pulled back very soon on this very intriguing multiplayer.

Now that you have another hint about the online portion of the game, do you have any guesses or hopes for it? Let us know in the comments below.
