With Television being the next-generation of gaming, the Daily Reaction crew of Seb and Dan have decided to break down some of the best shows to watch while you game.
Game of Thrones:
Dan: This right here is the best gaming experience you can have. Based off of A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones takes you through an epic struggle for the throne of Westeros. Filled with enough sexposition, violence and a midget so damn cool it makes me want to be shorter, I could not recommend any better way to utilize a next-gen console.
Seb: If you don’t watch this and come away writing fantasies involving Peter Dinklage, something’s wrong with you. Of course, the amount of cunnilingus involving women who have never ever washed may put you off your dinner, but all the pseudo-English accents and naked dragons make it worth it.
This is actually what the world looks like without internet, so it’s vital that companies force people online in any way possible, no matter how anti-consumerist, to keep the Wights at bay.
Breaking Bad:
Seb: Oh my god, Breaking Bad is awesome. It’s a visceral experience that has some of the best cutscenes you’ll find on console. Getting past it being Malcolm in the Middle’s Dad took me a few episodes and Jesse has way too much forehead going on there, but the plot is downright fantastic. Drugs, guns, baldness and expendable children.
Dan: Any show that starts with a mustache wielding, gun toting, middle aged man in his underwear, and I’m hooked. AnyOne with only One chance to make a difference, looking for One way to provide for their family, needs to watch this One show without having their One and only find out – this is the One and only One show Two watch.
Sherlock BBC
Dan: As everyone’s favorite deer-stalker wearing detective grows in popularity by having number of movies and television shows pop up about his life, people should accept no imitations and enjoy Sherlock the way he was meant to be. This modern take stars, up and comers Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and the newest Hobbit, Martin Freeman as Watson. Sherlock is an always observant, always watching and judging detective, something that we have heard is quite popular with some of the gaming demographic, so fans should love him.
Seb: I might not be as big of a Cumberbitch as Dan, but there is something mesmerizing about the voice acting in this episodic show. Even famous game directors are obsessed with it, because it’s the future of television and gaming.
There’s no need to wait for Star Trek to hit TVs, The ‘Batch is already here.
24:
Seb: Danger lurks around every corner, so it’s great that super Jesus is here to save everyone through good ol’ torture. In an hour, the writers have managed to pack so much in, with constant twists and turns, just like a recent program I watched.
Dan: Exactly, this show is great because all of the real information that comes out near the end, shows just tricky some people or companies can be about the real facts. This roller coaster of a show really captured a nation’s attention for about 8 years, that was until people realized that the content started to falter and each year became more and more like the year before.
The Walking Dead:
Dan: Just when you thought you were rid of that expensive lump that sat in front of the TV, the one that died too early from heat exhaustion, it seems he’s back. This is the premise of The Walking Dead, a show that puts people in difficult situations, where decisions could mean playing the game of life for another 8 to 10 years, or end up fighting something that is already dead and doesn’t know it.
Seb: It never dies, it just comes back and back and won’t stop coming. I hear that the next series will have a dog in it to mix things up a bit, though.
Arrested Development:
Seb: The name of the show means “an abnormal state in which development has stopped prematurely”. It’s really great to see something celebrate the confusion and lack of focus that can hit any person, or company.
As a side note, I’d love a device in my living room that always recorded all of my conversations so that I can find out if I’m a Tobias.
Dan: Running a business can be a difficult thing to do, especially if you don’t have a product you can just recycle day in and day out. This show has is a prime example that all good things must come to an end at some point, and that it can be better to end off on a high note than to milk something year after year until it becomes a shell of its former self.
But, there’s always money in the banana stand DLC.
