The Three New PlayStation Plus Free Games Will “Hang Around for a While for Sure”

Earlier today saw the reveal of all three games that will be joining the Instant Game Collection – Uncharted 3 Single PlayerXCOM: Enemy Unknown, and LittleBigPlanet Karting – replacing the previous set of evergreen titles – inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One/MotorStorm: Apocalypse.

While the last ones lasted an entire year before Sony decided to swap them out, some people were eager to know how long it would be before these ones get switched for some other games. Morgan Haro, Community Manager of PlayStation Digital Platforms, was quick to address these questions by saying:

They’re going to hang around for a while for sure. Whether that’s a year, or some other time frame, is to be determined; but for the time being, you can count on seeing them as part of the Instant Game Collection for a good long while.

Also, answering a similar question, he gave a similar answer:

There is no set time limit for these games. While the previous titles had stayed for about a year; there’s nothing we’re saying about those 3 titles only that they’ll likely be around longer than the usual rotation times for the other Plus content. Hope that makes sense!

On the subject of PlayStation Plus freebies, it was previously mentioned that the PlayStation Vita titles that have been present since November would be looked at “in the summer June/July.” It remains to be seen if this means we’ll be getting an announcement at E3, or perhaps gamescom, but whatever happens, we’ll let you know about it.

When do you think the PS Vita titles will change? Let us know in the comments below.
