It was pretty much a given that Sony would be showing off some new PS4 games at the last major Western gaming event before the console launches this holiday, but it’s still comforting to hear it confirmed.
SCEE president Jim Ryan told GameReactor:
There’s a lot coming. I’m sure you heard from Shu [Yoshida] that he has 30 games in development [from SCE Worldwide Studios]. 20 of them are going to ship within the first year of the console’s life, and of those 12 are new IP. There’s a lot going on, we need to keep stuff back. We’ve got gamescom for us Europeans–we need to have something to show at gamescom, don’t we?
If you’re wondering what could be on the way, here’s everything we know about the PS4’s unannounced exclusives.
Despite an overall strong E3 presence, Sony did disappoint with only one first party game reveal, The Order: 1886, but hopefully they’ll improve upon that at the European convention. The Vita was also seriously neglected at E3, but Sony has promised more screen time at gamescom.
What do you want to be announced at gamescom? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to mark August 21st-25th on your calendar to see what happens.
