June 25th, 2013 PlayStation Store Update in North America Coming Tonight, June 24th, due to Maintenance

With the PlayStation Network maintenance that is starting tomorrow, it would’ve seemed that the PlayStation Store update in North America would be delayed for quite some time tomorrow, but as it turns out, that isn’t the case.

Paul Sullivan, Community Manager of PlayStation Digital Platforms, explained the situation and gave us some very good news:

Our teams worked hard over the weekend to ensure that this update can be released later tonight (night of June 24). This will allow you to hop into the store tonight ahead of tomorrow’s store update post, and pick up your purchases prior to the Tuesday downtime. Since this is an early update, be sure to take advantage of any current sales now, while you can. We recognize that Tuesdays aren’t the best day for these, but it was required. As noted, we did our best to ease the pain that this may cause.

This means that, starting at an unspecified time tonight, you’ll be able to buy Magic 2014 and all the new PSN releases a day early, while also being able to download your free copy of Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward.

What do you think of the PSN update coming a day early? Let us know in the comments below.
