Bethesda on Dishonored: “It’s Something That We Feel is a Franchise”

While the next entry in The Elder Scrolls franchise is coming out next year, and Fallout 4 is heavily rumored to be in development, Bethesda’s been tight-lipped regarding sequel announcements for both Rage and Dishonored.

Speaking to IGN in an interview at E3, Pete Hines, Bethesda’s VP of Marketing and PR, discussed how the company tries “not to wade into anything as a one-off in the first place” and “it’s something that we feel is a franchise” when speaking about Dishonored. With Arkane rumored to be working on Prey 2, it might be tough to do Dishonored 2 at the same time, but Pete did say that “what we do or don’t do on Dishonored has zero effect on id, Tango, Machine Games.”

When Pete was questioned about whether Rage 2 had been canceled and if he sees potential for the franchise, he simply said that it’s “to be determined” and id’s “focus is on their current project. They are full bore on that. What I’ve seen of it recently, I’m super happy about it.” So, until id’s current project sees the light of day, don’t expect to hear anything about Rage 2.
