After teasing that we would be hearing about some more Borderlands 2 DLC, Gearbox has revealed what’s in store for the game at their PAX Australia panel. The first thing they announced was the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2. This DLC will up the current level cap by 11, bringing it to 72, and it will add the Digistruct Peak Challenge, which is a new map and will allow you to “over level” your game for an additional challenge. It will run you $5 and has no firm release date, but CEO Randy Pitchford confirmed that it would be coming before Halloween this year.
Next up, Gearbox announced a free update that will also be coming to Borderlands 2. The update will increase the maximum ammo that can be carried as well the number of available bank slots and inventory capacity. These upgrades can be purchased in-game using Eridium.
And, finally, Gearbox teased the first of the Headhunter packs, T.K Baha’s Bloody Harvest. The content is a throwback to The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, the first piece of DLC for the original Borderlands, and will feature a boss battle with a pumpkin creature by the name of Jacques O’Lantern. No price or release date has been announced.
Sadly, as it only covered the first four packs, the season pass for Borderlands 2 will not apply for the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 or T.K Baha’s Bloody Harvest. There is also some more DLC on the way as Pitchford said they still plan on releasing one or two more packs in the future.
