Grand Theft Auto V has Gone Gold, Sony Apologizes for EU PlayStation Store Leak, Rockstar Responds

When Grand Theft Auto V was put onto the European PlayStation Store in preparation for its September 17th launch, people were able to download assets for the game, leading to spoilers about the game being posted on the internet and causing Sony to remove the pre-order file from the PS Store.

Offering up an apology about this was Sid Shuman, Social Media Manager at PlayStation, who said, “We sincerely apologize to Rockstar and GTA fans across the world who were exposed to the spoiler content. GTA V is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year with a very passionate following, and we’re looking forward to a historic launch on September 17.”

Over on the Rockstar website, they posted about Grand Theft Auto V as well, revealing that the game has gone gold, while also expressing their thoughts on the leak:

As you can imagine, we are deeply disappointed by leaks and spoilers being spread in advance of the game’s launch. GTAV represents years of hard work by many people across the world, and we all couldn’t be more excited to finally share it with you properly this September 17th. Please stay tuned here at the Rockstar Newswire for all announcements about GTAV between now and game release as we definitely still have more to officially reveal.

So, like The Noid, avoid the internet as much as possible so as not to be subject to Grand Theft Auto V spoilers, but don’t worry, we won’t say anything.
