Report: Sony Making a VR Headset for the PS4, Reveal was Supposed to Happen at gamescom

Citing multiple unnamed sources, Eurogamer is reporting that Sony is working on a Virtual Reality headset (similar to the Oculus Rift VR) for the PlayStation 4. Supposedly set to be unveiled during gamescom last month, it seems that the reveal has now been delayed until 2014.

On top of that, CVG is also reporting on the matter, saying how Sony is debating if they should advertise the VR headset “as a key differentiator for the console or a non-essential add-on” and that a TGS showing is possible. They go on to say how the Oculus Rift’s success so early on is complicating matters (could a collaboration be taking place?).

Both outlets, however, report that Evolution Studios is working on VR support for DriveClub, allowing you to have a cockpit view from the inside of the car.

Since none of this has been officially confirmed by Sony, take this as a rumor right now, but we’ll keep you updated on the story if any new developments are made.
