EB Games Canada No Longer Accepting PS2 System, Game, or Accessory Trade-Ins as of September 15th, 2013

While those in the United States experienced the extreme sadness of GameStop no longer accepting PS2 trade-ins all the way back on June 1st, Canadians have been lucky enough to continue to do so. Until now.

As of Sunday, September 15th, EB Games will stop taking PlayStation 2 system, game, and accessory trade-ins. So, if you want to get rid of all your PS2 stuff for a few dollars, do it before Sunday.

Even though EB Games hasn’t offered up a statement on the matter, we’re pretty sure it would be pretty much the exact same as the GameStop one, so here it is, slightly updated:

We can confirm that as of [September 15th] we will no longer be accepting the PS2 console or its related product for trades. We know that the 12 year old system is a popular one and for many gamers, [EB Games] is the only place to find a great selection of its games. We will still offer a wide selection of the PS2 hardware, accessories and games in many of our stores and online for several months, based on remaining stock from trades.

We are very excited about the upcoming PS4 and are making room in our stores for it and other new platforms expected this fall.

Do you still have a PS2? Let us know in the comments below.
