It turns out that bringing Monster Hunter 4 to the Nintendo 3DS has been a very lucrative move for Capcom and Nintendo as the latest game in the long running series opened to sales of over 1.7 million. Obviously, this was the highest selling game of the week, with the second place title, AKB1/149: Love Election on PS3, moving 27,052 copies.
As for hardware, the PS3 dropped to 12,146, the PS Vita dropped yet again to 6,020 (I guess they’re waiting for the 2000?), and the PSP was right behind the Vita with 5,449.
