Sony on PS Vita TV in the US and Europe: “Of Course we are Thinking of Launching” There

So far this week, we’ve heard from Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, who talked about how Sony has “no plans yet” to bring the PlayStation Vita TV to Western markets.

While that’s a little disheartening to hear, Masayasu Ito, SVP at SCE, gave out some good news about the PS Vita TV coming West in an interview with Engadget:

During the presentation yesterday, the European/American users showed a very strong response, more than we expected, and there has been a strong inquiry/request/demand that they want the product. Of course we are thinking of launching in the EU and US, but in terms of timing we have to watch the timing and watch the environment carefully.

If the PS Vita TV does release in Europe and North America, it may be a little different that what will be seen in Japan, as Ito said, “If we have to add further services or not. It’s not that we have decided, but cloud gaming services, how can we work on that? So we are looking at each of the possible items before launching in Europe or the United States.”

What’s the most you would pay for the PS Vita TV if it does release in the West? $100? $150? Let us know in the comments below.
