PS3 to PS4 Upgrade Program Games Won’t Allow for Their Single Player Progress to be Transferred

If you haven’t heard already, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Watch Dogs will allow you to upgrade from the PS3 version to PS4 for a fee, which we detailed in our guide.

While Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts will allow transfers of the multiplayer progress, EA and Activision confirmed to Kotaku that single player progress will not be transferable, meaning you’ll have to start the campaign from the very beginning when playing on PS4. As for Ubisoft, they confirmed that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag won’t allow for single player save transfers either, while Watch Dogs is yet to be confirmed, though based on what they said for ACIV, it seems unlikely.

We’ll let you know if any of the companies change their stance on this matter.

What do you think of single player save progress staying on PS3? Let us know in the comments below.
