God of War: Ascension PSN Release on October 15th, No More DLC so Team can Work on Other Projects at Sony Santa Monica

It’s been a long time coming, with Sony Santa Monica finally confirming that the digital version of God of War: Ascension will release on the PSN in North America next week on October 15th, and Europe at a later date. No price was revealed, though it should be $39.99 if they keep with current market pricing.

Along with this announcement, Sony Santa Monica confirmed that no more DLC will be made for God of War: Ascension “as our primary team resources start to transition to other projects.” This won’t be the end of support for God of War: Ascension multiplayer though, as they will be monitoring online play 24/7 to fix any issues, with a new patch expected later this month:

  • Our Designers have plowed through mountains of gameplay feedback and are currently working on balance improvements that will tune-up all the Allegiances. We are aiming for this balance update to release later this month. Rest assured, things like the Ares Olympus Armor -20 (PR) is being heavily diagnosed.

There’s also a few more God of War: Ascension goodies planned for the near future:

  • All DLC items will receive special pricing options upon digital version release in their region (NA pricing options released on October 22, 2013).
  • The God of War: Ascension Soundtrack will be made available as a free download for all on PSN for a limited time only.
  • Double XP Weekend returns October 18 to October 21 worldwide.

We’ve reached out to Sony for a price and file size for God of War: Ascension on the PSN and we’ll let you know if we hear anything back.
