We found out that select PS4 games would be available for pre-order when Sony detailed the PS3 to PS4 digital upgrade program, and now they are following through with that promise, starting with Knack and Warframe.
When it comes to Knack, you can expect it to sell for a full $59.99 on the PSN (pre-order it on the PlayStation Store through your PS3 or the SEN website). After you buy the game, you’ll be given a “one-time license fee for downloads to up to 2 console systems that are associated with the purchasing account,” meaning you can download Knack to one other PS4 system, so long as your PSN account is set up with that other PS4.
Here’s the official description of Knack:
Mankind must turn to Knack, an unlikely hero, to protect them from a dangerous new threat. The unassuming Knack stands at a mere three feet tall, but thanks to the power of mysterious ancient relics, he can transform into a powerful brute or even a gigantic wrecking machine. Knack is mankind’s only hope for turning the tide against the invading goblin army, but trying to harness the true power of the relics could threaten to put the whole world at risk. From Mark Cerny, one of the greatest minds in video games today, Knack is a fun-filled adventure of colossal proportions that invites players to wield fantastic powers and discover a unique and vibrant world, available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 system.
- Stunning graphics – Detailed characters and environments, 90 minutes of stunning cutscenes, and featuring a unique character brought to life by the power of the PS4 system.
- Two-player coop – A friend can join the fun at any time with drop-in/drop-out cooperative play
- Old-school meets next-gen – Collect relics to power up and smash your way through hordes of goblins, robots, tanks and more!
- Fun for everyone – Action-packed gameplay features simple controls but challenging and varied enemy AI.
As for Warframe, it will be a free download (it’s F2P), but if you pre-order, you’ll be given access to some unspecified DLC.
Here’s the description for Warframe:
Ninjas Play Free. They were called Tenno. Warriors of blade and gun – Masters of the Warframe armor. Those that survived the old war were left drifting among the ruins. Now they are needed once more.
The Grineer, with their vast armies, are spreading throughout the solar system. A call echoes across the stars summoning the Tenno to an ancient place. They summon you.
Come Tenno, you must join the war.
When you’re deciding whether to pre-order Knack, don’t forget that if you spend $50 this month on the PSN, you’ll receive $10 back.
